David Sherwood, Ph.D.

David Sherwood, Ph.D. received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Duke University in 1969. He has worked in various clinical and administrative capacities in the Dutchess County Department of Mental Hygiene in Poughkeepsie, NY. He retired in 2013 from a 30 year clinical practice, and now resides in Massachusetts. He has been active in the EMDR community, having served as Board member and Secretary of the EMDR International Association. Prior to that he served on the EMDRIA Standards and Training Committee and as a Regional Coordinator and Chair of the Regional Coordinating committee. An EMDRIA Certified Clinician and Approved Consultant, he is currently training as a Facilitator for the Trauma Recovery–EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Program. He received EMDRIA’s Outstanding Regional Coordinator Award in 2001, and the Outstanding Contribution and Service Award in 2004.
